We assume that humans can use animals only for assistance and cruelty-free working. A human shall treat animals accordingly - invest money and time into training, feeding, playing, veterinary, pet care, and other things to create the link with the pet and avoid any types of cruelty regarding the pet. Of all the home pets, only a few types are considered for this assisting role. They are dogs, horses, and some others. Human doesn't have any rights to keep at home (or in the zoo as well) animals from the wild nature, and any animals for the amusement purposes. There are many other ways to fight against loneliness, and taking a dog or a cat for entertainment is a wrong choice that doesn't solve the problem.
