History of Barbarossa Plan

Updated: Jul 31, 2023

When we look at the photographic evidence of Nazi atrocities - the fields of corpses, the mountains of dismembered bodies, the thousands of photographs taken by madmen to preserve the memory of "trophies" - one question arises. What could move these people, who killed tens of thousands of people every day? What should be in the minds of people who every day killed thousands of people in cold blood with their own hands? What's this? Madness? Self-interest? Other motives? Why, out of 6,500 executioners of Auschwitz-Birkenau, behind the fields of corpses, trenches filled with the bodies of murdered people, only 45 people reached the court, who were later released "for lack of evidence"? What did motivate people who shared the views of Hitler? Why was Oskar Gröning accused of "hallucinations" - that fields of corpses "seemed" to him?

In general, no one wondered how the 3rd Reich appeared and about the motivation of the people who created it.

If you pay attention to how the protectorates of the 3rd Reich were called - for example, Bohemia and Moravia, the names of states from some very ancient history, then this will probably remind you of something from the book "The Lord of the Rings," a map of Middle-earth, and an epic the saga of how one ring was made to rule them all. Bohemia and Moravia, the Holy Roman Empire - these are the historical names of modern states, but the Nazis operated these old names on in their plans and in the names of the Protectorates, Reich Commissariats, and in their own strategies and tactical initiatives (Barbarossa, Oldenburg, Nord-Ost and others).

The heart of the WWII lies in the dynastical ambitions.

The 3rd Reich is a dynastic structure created by descendants of the Irish-British aristocracy of Wellington. The structure was created to gain power - in accordance with the good old traditions of dynastic games and medieval wars. The goal of the 3rd Reich was to consolidate the continents in order to gain absolute power. On the Eurasian mainland, they wanted to unite Russia, Europe, and Asia under their control. In Africa and India, gain control of the former colonies. In the US, they intended to gain control of the former Northeast colonies of Britain and all of North America. Nazism has Irish-British roots.

One of the prominent representatives of the dynasty, whose fate haunted the Wellingtons, was the representative of the Hohenstaufen dynasty, Emperor Frederick I Barbarossa, who wanted to consolidate all of Europe, and at the same time, cut all of Russia to it.

In his honor, the 3rd Reich named its plan Barbarossa.

Friedrich I Hohenstaufen (German: Friedrich I Rotbart - Frederick I Barbarossa); late 1122, Weingarten Monastery, Swabia - June 10, 1190, Selif River, now in Turkey) - King of Germany from 1152, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire from 1155, Duke of Swabia in 1147-1152 under the name Frederick III.

Hohenstaufen or Staufen (German: Hohenstaufen or Staufen) - a dynasty of South German kings in the Middle Ages and emperors of the Holy Roman Empire (1138-1254, which died out in the male generation in 1268, with the death of Konradin.

Their first reliably known ancestor is Friedrich Burensky, who lived around the middle of the 11th century. His son, Frederick I, built a castle on Mount Staufen, or Hohenstaufen. He received from Henry IV in 1079 the Duchy of Swabia and the hand of his only daughter, Agnes. Applicants for this duchy were Berthold, son of Rudolf of Swabia (the enemy of Henry IV), and Berthold of Zähringen; after long wars, with varying success, peace was concluded in Mainz (1097), according to which Frederick was recognized as the Duke of Swabia.

Plan "Barbarossa", or Directive No. 21. Plan "Barbarossa" (German: Weisung Nr. 21. Fall Barbarossa), is the code name for the plan of Nazi Germany's attack on the USSR developed from December 1940 to June 1941, the implementation of which was subsequently undertaken in the form Operation Barbarossa of the same name. The main task is to "defeat Soviet Russia in the course of one short-term campaign", using the experience of applying the so-called "blitzkrieg" strategy - lightning war in Europe. The economic subsection of the plan, associated with the exploitation of the territory of the USSR, received the name Plan "Oldenburg" ("Green Folder" Goering).

The death of Frederick Barbarossa is shrouded in mystery.

According to legend, the emperor sits at the table, and his long red beard wraps around the table. From time to time Barbarossa wakes up and sends two ravens to see if the quarrels in Germany have died down. When this happens, and the beard is wrapped around the table three times, the emperor will rise and restore order with his own hand.
